Family Caregiver Event-Sioux City

Connections Area Agency on Aging works every day to Build Strong Support for older Iowans and their Family Caregivers.  In appreciation of Family Caregivers Connections Area Agency on Aging is hosting an in-person event on May 13tht that will focus on taking care of the Caregiver with 3 fun therapeutic sessions as well as a light lunch, registration is required for the event.

The four sessions include:

 Jennifer Conner with Senior Life Solutions will share some information about Cherokee Regional’s Senior Life Solutions Mental Health Program and the importance of taking care of your mental health as we age.

Jess Neilsen with Healing by Jess will lead event participants through a short chair yoga session, helping them to relax and enjoy the day. 

Linda, a Sioux City artist, will walk participants through the process of neurographic art.   Neurographic art is a mindful drawing style that can help relieve stress. In neurographic art, the process of creating the drawing is more important than the art that is produced.

As well as a short presentation by a member of the Alzheimer’s Association.

There will also be food catered in by Karla’s Catering, a local caterer in the Sioux City region.
