Caregiver Support

Grandparents Caring for Grandchildren

The Grandparents Caring for Grandchildren Program supports grandparents and relative caregivers age 55 and older who are raising a child age 18 or younger. Connections Area Agency on Aging provides guidance, connection, and practical support to help caregivers navigate their role with confidence.

Our focus is on strengthening caregivers through education, emotional support, and access to helpful resources—so families don’t have to face challenges alone.

Supports May Include:

  • Individual counseling and caregiver support
  • Peer and group support opportunities
  • Guidance related to health, nutrition, and financial literacy
  • Help with decision-making, problem-solving, and caregiving challenges
  • Connections to community programs and services

Financial Assistance

Limited financial assistance may be available to help remove barriers to approved services that support the caregiving role. Reimbursement is provided only for services, programs, or projects that are approved in advance by Connections Area Agency on Aging.

Our goal is to support grandparents and relative caregivers with the tools, connections, and encouragement they need to care for their grandchildren and themselves.
