3/18/20 (Sioux City) In response to the vulnerability of the senior population to Covid-19, Connections Area Agency on Aging is partnering with Pickerman’s Sandwich Shop. Pickerman’s will be donating sack lunches for residents of three senior apartment complexes in Sioux City. Sack lunches, which include a cold meat sandwich, chips, and a cookie, are being distributed on a rotating schedule to Fairmount Park, Riverside Gardens and Evergreen Terrace.
Connections Area Agency on Aging will be hosting its second annual Night at Cone Park on February 20, 2020 from 6-9 pm. The evening will be filled with family fun, with tubing and ice skating for a good cause. Cosmic lights will illuminate the slope in the later evening and the outside firepits will be available for warming up or toasting treats. Admission is $7 per person, with a portion benefitting programs that help increase the independence of older community members and support their caregivers.
