Asian Style Fresh Green Beans

For 2 servings:

½ pound fresh green beans

1 green onion, chopped

1 clove garlic, chopped

1 ½ Tbsp sesame oil

red pepper flakes and sesame seeds optional



1 ½ tsp soy sauce

1 ½ tsp rice vinegar

¼ tsp sugar

1 Tbsp water

¼ tsp cornstarch

salt and pepper to taste

Clean beans and remove ends, leaving beans whole.

Whisk sauce ingredients in small bowl and set aside.

Heat frying pan to high heat and add sesame oil and toss in beans.

Turn heat down to medium and cook beans just until tender, tossing often for 3-4 minutes.

Add onion and toss for 30 seconds.

Add garlic and stir in sauce and cook until thickened and glossy- around 30 seconds.

Add a few red pepper flakes here for a spicy kick. Plate and sprinkle with sesame seeds if you like.
