Urgent: Tell Congress to Boost Funding for the Older Americans Act!

For 60 years, the Older Americans Act (OAA) has been a lifeline for older adults and caregivers—helping them live with health, dignity, and independence right in their communities. But with our aging population rapidly growing (by 2030, 1 in 5 Americans will be 65+), we’re at a critical juncture.

Congress is finalizing the FY 2026 budget, and funding for OAA services is on the line. We need your voice to ensure continued support for:

  • Home-delivered & congregate meals that combat hunger and isolation
  • Health promotion, fall prevention & in-home care services
  • Transportation & elder abuse prevention initiatives
  • Family caregiver supports – including training, respite, & navigation aid

These services aren’t extras—they’re essentials that support seniors in Iowa and nationwide.

What You Can Do:

Email your U.S. Senators and Representative today. Just click the links below and paste in a short message like:

“Please support increased FY 2026 funding for the Older Americans Act. These services truly help older Iowans and their caregivers!”

U.S. Senators (represent all Iowans):
