Aging Well Series - I Can Live Here! (Home Modifications)

Wednesday, March 14, 2018

Western Iowa Tech - Sioux City

I Can Live Here!
The vast majority of Americans wish to stay in the comfort of their own home as they age. Home modifications help seniors maintain independence and quality of life in the home. Adaptations often prevent injuries that lead to a loss of independence and early admis- sion to an assisted living or long-term care facility. This session will examine how modifications and universal design can turn your home into a safer place to live. We’ll also take a look at a cost comparison of home modifications versus assisted living and examine inexpensive solutions to creating an aging-friendly home.
