Connections Area Agency on Aging is pleased to offer Powerful Tools for Family Caregivers. The Powerful Tools for Family Caregivers classes will provide caregivers with tools and strategies to better handle the unique caregiver challenges you face.
Caregiving takes many forms. You may help a relative or friend with transportation, housekeeping, grocery shopping, personal care, medications, emotional support, or doctor appointments.
The classes will give you tools to help reduce stress, improve self-confidence, manage time, set goals and solve problems, better communicate your feelings, make tough decisions and locate helpful resources. The caregiver classes will also provide you with tools and strategies to better handle the unique caregiver challenges you face.
Powerful Tools for Caregivers gives you the skills to take care of yourself while caring for someone else. By taking care of your own health and well-being, you become a better caregiver.
Caregiver classes meet online once a week for six weeks starting Thursday, September 17, 2020 for 90 minutes. It is for caregivers of adults with chronic conditions. Class participants will receive The Caregiver Helpbook to accompany the class and provide additional caregiver resources.
Class size is limited, and registration is required. No cost for the program but will receive an opportunity to donate. Please contact Western Iowa Technical Community College at 712-274-6404 or 800-352-4649 to register.
