 ted and/or exploited.  In addition\, elders throughout United States lose 
 an estimated $2.6 billion dollars ore more annually due to financial explo
 itation.  Unfortunately\, no one is immune to abuse\, neglect or exploitat
 ion. It occurs in every demographic area including our Creston service are
 a and it could happen to anyone including your neighbor\, family member an
 d even you. Elder Abuse and/or Neglect occurs 1 in 5 seniors yet only 1 in
  23 cases are reported. \nThe goal of the symposium is to increase awarene
 ss of Elder Abuse\, to recognize the signs of it’s occurrence\, and to fur
 ther develop the coalition of collaborative resources to address these nee
 ds of the older members within our communities. The symposium will empower
  us with a sense of purpose\, relevancy and common cause as we educate\, r
 ecognize and alleviate the suffering caused by Elder Abuse within our comm
