X-WR-CALDESC:Providing care is a rewarding role\, but it’s also physically\
, mentally\, emotionally\, and financially stressful… and should never be
done alone. It is estimated that there are over 350\,000 informal family
caregivers in Iowa. Many caregivers don’t even recognize they are filling
this role\, but you can count yourself as one if you provide daily care fo
r an aging or ailing spouse or person with disabilities\, or are raising a
grandchild. Caregivers are also\, for example\, those who help their neig
hbor get their groceries\, call a friend or relative regularly to see if t
hey are safe\, stop to visit with aging parents and help around the home.
Taking proper care of yourself allows you to live a healthy\, productive
life\, while also becoming an even better caregiver. Designing a team of f
 amily members\, neighbors\, medical providers\, faith community members\,
and other community supports can ease the load. At this session\, a panel
of experts from Connections Area Agency on Aging and other organizations
will address the needs of caregivers and give practical advice on how to b
uild or expand your supportive team.\n\nPreregistration recommended. Call
